How Can I Make My Leggings Last Longer?

1. Don’t Let Them Stay Damp

If your clothes are damp from sweat or water, don’t leave them in a bag or laundry hamper. The dark, humid space creates the perfect environment for mold and mildew to grow, which can stain your clothes and give them a stubborn odor. After use, either throw the items straight in the washer and turn it on or hang them on a laundry line or over the shower curtain rod to air dry.


2. Wash Them the Right Way

As with any piece of clothing you want to preserve, follow the washing instructions on the label of your activewear. Each piece may have its own needs, such as being washed in cold water or tumble-dried. Not following the instructions can cause the clothing to lose elasticity, color, or bacteria-fighting properties. They should be turned inside-out while washing to minimize wear. The baking soda will neutralize odors while the vinegar disinfects. The reaction between the two will loosen the stubborn odor-causing particles from the material.
